Bayfield Heritage Association created a new exhibit containing 32 paintings by Bob Nelson. The paintings are of of boats, tugs and ships that called Lake Superior and Bayfield home.
This video is a presentation Bob gave at BHA where he shows and talks about some of the paintings. He shares memories and stories about each vessel.
Bob is a folk artist who, at age 67, started working with pen and ink sketches, acrylic, and oil paints. Bob hails from a commercial fishing family, has fished commercially, worked with WDNR, and is a life-long Rocky Islander.
