Item of the Month

Nurse Uniform

Item of the Month is a series of articles featuring some of the amazing treasures that can be found in the BHA archives. A rare glimpse of the technology, fashion, and everyday items of a bygone era.

This nurse’s uniform belonged to Frances “Denny” Edwards who worked at the Pureair Sanatorium in Bayfield.

She worked for 35 years as a registered nurse. She received a certificate for her “outstanding service toward improving community health in the fight against emphysema, tuberculosis and air pollution.”
