What does history mean to you?
Help us reach our goal of $50,000
Perhaps it brings to mind: stories, memories, community, family traditions, a sense of place, leaving a legacy.
With each passing day, month, or year, we have the opportunity to capture history as it is created: to recall and document events and interactions that have shaped who we are in this moment, now – causing us to see the world in new ways.
The Bayfield Heritage Association (BHA) is honored to serve as a conduit for such history making. Every time we gather to celebrate or to learn, we acknowledge the importance of community and the stories that knit us together in this time and place – adding meaning and depth to our lives. These stories live on in the interviews with Bayfield Elders, now searchable on our website; or as we read the names of loved ones engraved in bricks at the newly restored Fountain Garden Park.
We have another ambitious year ahead and we need your help. The goal for this campaign is $50,000. Every dollar raised provides essential support to carry out our mission as your local history center. This includes: hosting educational programs, enhancing exhibits in our free museum, maintaining historic sites like the Old City Jail, growing our online resources, and housing an extensive collection of archives to preserve and share our area’s rich history.
Behind the scenes, the Board is actively planning for our museum expansion. Key elements include a dedicated auditorium space, expanded exhibit rooms, and a more accessible layout. We look forward to updating you on these plans in the coming months.
